I spent over a decade in the fast-paced legal field before we were finally blessed with our daughter (lovingly nicknamed "Tulip"). She is our greatest gift and a constant reminder of all that is good and loving in this world. I have always been sentimental but after having my daughter I wanted to focus even more than before on doing everything I could to bring more meaning into what I do and more love into the world.

Each of our lives are touched by these monumental moments - friendships, graduations, new jobs, new school years, holidays, daring adventures, a risk that paid off, marriages, anniversaries, new homes, babies, and of course memories of loved ones we've lost - both human and animal.

In this life it's crucial to find those things that tug at your heartstrings and love them with everything you've got. This is what inspired me to create Tulip Garden Gifts...Spreading love through unique gifts for others to enjoy and to help bring a smile to someone's face through a thoughtful item or gift. Thus the Tulip Garden was founded and Tulip Garden Gifts was also born.

The saying about shopping small couldn't ring truer - Because when you shop with Tulip Garden Gifts you're not helping pay for a lavish vacation home, you're helping a little girl to go to school and to participate in activities like gymnastics, dance, cheer, soccer, basketball and baseball.

You're also helping to give back. Many of my pieces are made to help raise money and awareness to causes near and dear to me. From cancer and Alzheimers research, animals and the local community - I donate a number of pieces to charities and fundraisers each year as well as percentages of sales.

Every piece I make is personally sourced and handmade with love right here in the heartland (Ohio). I grew up spending much of my life with my grandparents - two Dutch immigrants who came to the U.S. after WWII and worked their tails off for the American Dream. They were the most hardest working people I've ever known yet still they made sure they always had time for their family and also spent time nurturing their own passions of gardening and crafting as well - (my grandmother knitting and crocheting and my grandfather woodworking and tinkering). So the maker genes have been part of me for as long as I can remember.
